Foundation stone of Block Public Health Unit laid in Naxalbari Rural Hospital

Naxalbari, 18th July: Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad Sabhadhipati, Arun Ghosh, inaugurated the foundation stone laying ceremony for the Block Public Health Unit at Naxalbari Rural Hospital. The ceremony marked the initiation of the construction of the Block Public Health Unit, with an estimated cost of Rs 66 lakh. Present at the event were Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Tulsi Pramanik, Naxalbari Panchayat Samiti President Anand Ghosh, Naxalbari BDO Arindam Mandal, and other dignitaries.


The new two-storey building of the unit will house a laboratory equipped for various blood tests. Sabhadhipati Arun Ghosh expressed satisfaction with the progress made in the field of healthcare during the one-year tenure of the Siliguri Mahakma Parishad, including the opening of 50 sub-health centres and the installation of a digital X-ray machine. Dr. Tulsi Pramanik, the CMOH, mentioned that after the establishment of the unit in Kharibari Rural Hospital, the work has now commenced at Naxalbari Rural Hospital, with plans for a future unit in Matigara.
