Naxalbari, 29th June: Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad Sabhadhipati Arun Ghosh marked a significant milestone as he laid the foundation stone for a footbridge over the Manja River at Maha Singh Jote in Hatighisa, Naxalbari, after a long-awaited endeavour.
The foundation stone ceremony was graced by the presence of Sabhadhipati Arun Ghosh, Naxalbari Panchayat Samiti President Anand Ghosh, Panchayat Samiti Executive Officer Asraf Ansari, Biraj Sarkar, Hatighisa Village Panchayat Pradhan Catharina Tamang, and other dignitaries.
The footbridge, estimated to cost around Rs 31 lakh, is being constructed under the supervision of Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad. Sabhadhipati Arun Ghosh emphasized that the bridge is designed to enhance the convenience of the local residents. It is expected to be inaugurated within the next three months, further improving connectivity in the area.
