Siliguri, 03rd February: The foundation stone of a new hall in Siliguri Municipal Corporation(SMC) was laid today. In the first phase, the construction work started at a cost of around 2 crore rupees.
Ashok Bhattacharya, chairman of the BoA at SMC, said that such an initiative has been taken as at present more workers are being employed at SMC. He further alleged that the state government took back the amount allotted for developmental work in SMC. Hence, a loan was taken to start the construction work of the said hall.
Apart from this, construction work of an e-service center and a disaster management center has also commenced. The work of the new bhawan will be completed within 9 months.
