News Desk: Former Kolkata police commissioner, Rajeev Kumar, has been allotted as West Bengal’s new Director General of Police (DGP).
As per reports, Kumar, an IPS officer from the 1989 batch, will serve as director general and inspector general of police till further orders are issued. He was previously the chief of the Kolkata Police and the Bidhannagar Police, as well as the head of the Criminal Investigation Department and the Special Task Force.
