Siliguri, 16th June: Pritikana Biswas, the former councillor of Ward No. 44, left CPI(M) and joined the Trinamool Congress.
Today, she was handed over the Trinamool party flag at the Darjeeling district Trinamool party office by SMC administrator Goutam Deb and Darjeeling district Trinamool president Ranjan Sarkar.
Earlier too, former councillor Kamal Agarwal left CPIM and joined TMC. Rambhajan Mahato, who was the deputy mayor, left Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP) and joined TMC.
After joining the party, Pritikana Biswas said that she took such a step for the sake of the city’s development. However, she did not say anything regarding her former party.
