Siliguri, 25th March: Former Mahila Sabhanetri of Siliguri Organizational District Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Sikha Moitra left BJP and joined the Trinamool Congress (TMC). She forwarded extensive support to the District TMC President Papiya Ghosh.
Reportedly, Sikha Moitra had previously hold several positions in BJP and even hold the position of Sabhanetri in 2021.
On Monday, after joining TMC, she targeted BJP MP Raju Bista. In this regard, TMC District President Papiya Ghosh stated that the membership took place over the instructions of Abhishek Banerjee. She added that Sikha Moitra had joined the party in view of the development works undertaken by the Chief Minister.
