Rajganj, 23rd January: The Forest Department closed the Parmunda picnic spot in Rajganj. Allegedly, the people who went for a picnic to the said spot were sent back on Thursday.
The Parmunda picnic spot is situated in the Baikunthapur forests in the Cheulibari area of Rajganj block. The area tends to attract people from all corners by its natural beauty.
When questioned regarding the decision, Ranger Sanjay Dutta stated that the picnics in the Parmunda area were allegedly affecting the wildlife. Hence the decision to shut down the picnic spot was taken. The Ranger also maintained that legal actions will be taken against the ones who do not follow the instructions.
