Siliguri, 12th December: The Food Safety Department conducted a major inspection drive in Siliguri’s College Para area, accompanied by officials from Siliguri Municipal Corporation, the Health Department, and the Fire Department.
During the operation, multiple shops near the college were fined for selling tobacco products and smoking items in violation of regulations.
Officials also found several food outlets operating without maintaining proper hygiene and safety standards. Notices were issued to these establishments, directing them to submit explanations within a stipulated timeframe.
Authorities stated that stricter action will be taken if such violations continue. Regular inspections will also be carried out in the coming days.
