Siliguri, 08th January: A food fair was organised at Siliguri Girls’ High School. Students participated enthusiastically, presenting dishes prepared by themselves.
As per government guidelines, schools were instructed to celebrate ‘Student Week’ from 02nd January to 08th January. Following this, the school had been conducting various educational and cultural activities since 02nd January. On Thursday, the final day of Student Week, students of Classes XI and XII organised a food fair featuring different types of food items.
Headmistress Atyuha Bagchi said the fair was organised to develop creativity and culinary skills among the students alongside their studies. During Student Week, activities such as a magic show, cultural programmes, and events related to environmental awareness were also conducted.
Teachers said such activities help students gain practical knowledge and increase their interest in studies.
During the event, District Inspector of Schools Kanai Lal Dey visited the school, inspected the food stalls, and said initiatives like this encourage creativity and motivate students.
