Alipurduar, 15th July: An auto accident at Jasodanga bus stand in Alipurduar resulted in five people being injured on Monday morning. The incident occurred when an auto traveling from Shamuktala to Alipurduar suddenly encountered a minor on a bicycle.
To avoid hitting the minor, the auto driver braked abruptly, causing the vehicle to overturn. Both the passengers in the auto and the minor cyclist sustained injuries. They were promptly rescued and taken to Jasodanga Rural Hospital, where the minor was released after receiving first aid.
The auto driver fled the scene following the accident. Police arrived at the location after receiving the news and subsequently recovered the auto and detained the driver at Shamuktala police station from Mahakal Chowpathi.
