Kolkata, 17th March: According to a health department official, an individual, who recently returned from England, on Tuesday, tested positive for the novel coronavirus, making it the first case in West Bengal.
The official further stated that the individual was admitted to Beleghata ID Hospital after he showed symptoms of COVID-19.
Medical examinations revealed that the person had contracted the disease as his test results came out positive.
The individual has been kept in isolation in a separate ward.
