Siliguri, 15th November: Calcutta High Court’s ban on the sale and use of firecrackers during Kali puja had no significant impact in Siliguri. Fireworks were were openly burnt and fired till late Saturday night.
People in Sukanta Nagar, Ward No. 38 and Deshbandhu Para Ward No. 33 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation were caught on camera burning firecrackers. During the course, the police appeared to be a bit lenient towards the act. Likewise, firecrackers were also seen on the streets in most parts of the city.
