Bagdogra, 02nd September: A major fire broke out in an electricity transformer near Bagdogra’s Airport More area on Monday.
Reports indicate that the fire ignited suddenly in the transformer, leading to an immediate suspension of electricity service. The incident also caused traffic disruptions due to oil leaking from the transformer.
Emergency response teams, including fire engines from Naxalbari and Matigara, arrived promptly and managed to bring the blaze under control. Bagdogra police, traffic police, and electricity department personnel were also present at the scene to assist with the situation.
Firefighters believe the blaze was triggered by a short circuit in the transformer.
