Fulbari, 12th November: A major fire broke out early Wednesday morning at a car parts repair shop near the Fulbari bypass, completely reducing it to ashes. The blaze caused extensive damage, leaving the shop’s contents destroyed.
Locals first spotted thick black smoke rising from the shop along the national highway and immediately rushed to try and control the fire. Their efforts, however, were not enough to contain the blaze.
The New Jalpaiguri police and the fire brigade were promptly informed. A fire engine from Fulbari reached the site and managed to bring the fire under control. No injuries were reported.
Preliminary investigations suggest that a short circuit may have triggered the fire. The police have begun a detailed probe into the incident.
