Gajoldoba, 04th January: Sensation prevailed after a fire broke out in the cabin of a dumper truck on the flyover near the newly inaugurated bridge at Bhorer Alo in Gajoldoba. However, no injuries have been reported as the driver and co-driver managed to escape on time.
According to local sources, a dumper truck loaded with sand was on its way towards Ambari from Odlabari. As the truck approached the said flyover, the vehicle caught fire. Subsequently, the inferno was extinguished by utilizing the water from the tank placed for work on the bridge. Upon receiving the news, a fire engine from Fulbari arrived at the spot; however, the prompt action of the locals had already brought the situation under control.
Speculations indicate a short circuit to be the cause of the incident, however, at the time of report, the precise reason behind the fire is yet to be ascertained. As a consequence of the incident, vehicular movement over the bridge was affected. Meanwhile, the cops of Bhorer Alo Police Station also arrived at the spot upon being alerted.
