Siliguri, 04th June: Sensation prevailed after a fire broke out on the brake shoe of the wheel of the Kanchankanya Express that was travelling from Sealdah to Alipurduar. The incident occurred this morning near Aluabari station.
Reportedly, the brake shoe of the No. 02 AC compartment of the train caught fire. Following this, the passengers called the emergency number and informed the officials of the railway department. The train was stopped at the Atal Cha Bagan area near Naxalbari. As the firefighters did not reach the spot till then, the train was brought to Bagdogra station, where the fire was eventually put out by the firefighters.
About an hour after the incident, the train left Bagdogra station for Siliguri Junction. No casualties were reported in the incident.
