Fulbari, 14th February: Panic spread in the Jatiakali area of Fulbari after a fire broke out in an empty truck parked beside a petrol pump on Saturday.
According to local sources, residents noticed flames and smoke suddenly emerging from the cabin of the parked truck. Locals rushed to the spot and began efforts to douse the fire. Authorities of a nearby private hospital brought water pipes and, along with local residents, started trying to control the blaze. Their prompt action helped bring the fire largely under control within a short time.
No casualties were reported in the incident, though the front portion of the truck was damaged in the fire. A fire engine from Fulbari later reached the spot, but by then the fire had already been brought under control.
Preliminary assumptions suggest that the fire may have originated due to a short circuit. The exact cause of the incident is being investigated.
