Siliguri, 28th October: Sensation prevailed after a massive fire broke out in the Khalpara area under Ward No. 8 of Siliguri. The incident occurred in the early hours, of Saturday morning, at a medicine store.
According to reports, all the goods of the shop were burnt to ashes. Earlier, upon receiving the information from locals, the fire brigade vehicle arrived at the spot and after a prolonged relentless effort, the fire department personnel brought the situation under control.
Later in the morning, Shalini Dalmia, the Councilor of Ward no.8, visited the incident site after receiving the information. She stated that due to the fire, the goods kept at the store were destroyed; however, no casualties have been reported. She added that the precise cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
