Siliguri, 09th January: A massive fire broke out in a house near Ramakrishna Club in Ashram Para, Siliguri, on Friday morning, creating panic in the area. The blaze occurred while SIR work was ongoing at a nearby school, and two firefighters from Dabgram Fire Station rushed immediately to the scene.
Using fire control equipment and with the arrival of two fire engines, the fire was brought under control within a short time. One room of the house was completely destroyed, resulting in significant damage.
Homeowner Archana Sarkar said she noticed smoke during her morning rituals and discovered the fire after feeling an electric shock in her hand.
Fire department official Dharmendra Krishna Roy stated the fire may have been caused by a short circuit, and a detailed investigation is underway.
