Naxalbari, 28th February: The final voter list has been published. Along with various areas, the complete list has also reached the Naxalbari BDO office. The administration handed over the list to all BLOs (Booth Level Officers).
Before the list was released, security at the BDO office was tightened. Additional police personnel were deployed to prevent any untoward incidents. After the list arrived from the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Officer’s office, it was distributed among the concerned officers.
According to BLOs, 19 names were removed in some booths, while 22 names were removed in others.
As per Election Commission data, a total of 23,179 voter names have been deleted in Darjeeling district, while 80,003 names are still under scrutiny. The total number of registered voters in the district stands at 10,68,420.
