Cooch Behar, 06th April: Sensation prevailed after a fierce fire broke out late night in Bakshirhat market of Tufanganj creating a stir in the area.
Reportedly, 16 shops were burnt to ashes due to the fire that broke out in the market late Wednesday night. In no time, the fire started spreading. On the other hand, as soon as the news of the incident was received, 6 fire tenders from Assam and Bengal reached the spot.
Firefighters brought the fire under control after five hours of effort. After getting information, BDO Prasenjit Kundu of Tufanganj No. 02 block reached the spot. The incident has incurred loss of huge amount of money.
