Siliguri, 17th April: A female BJP activist has been accused of influencing voters to vote for BJP. The incident surfaced from the polling center of Lal Bahadur Shastri School in Gatebazar.
It has been learned that Bharati Sarkar, a resident of Ward No. 33, went to cast their votes with her daughter. Allegedly, a woman present at the booth influenced them to vote for BJP. Following this, the atmosphere boiled up in the area. The Trinamool workers present at the spot protested against the incident.
The central forces and police arrived at the scene. The central forces resorted to lathi-charge to bring the situation under control.
