Fulbari, 22nd August: On Tuesday, an event was convened at the police battalion in Fulbari under the commendable initiative of the West Bengal Police Welfare Committee to honor the meritorious students from police families. Among the dignitaries present at the event were Siliguri Police Commissioner Akhilesh Kumar Chaturvedi, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Joy Tudu, Table Tennis Arjuna awardee Mantu Ghosh, West Bengal Police Welfare Committee Convenor Bijitashwa Routh, and other senior police officers.
According to reports, a total of 85 deserving students in secondary and higher secondary schools with police backgrounds from various areas in North Bengal were awarded at the event. In this regard, West Bengal Police Welfare Committee Convenor Bijitashwa Routh highlighted that the incentive program was aimed to encourage the youth of the police family of West Bengal Police who have achieved good results in secondary and higher secondary examinations in 2023.
On August 4, the first phase of the event was held at Barrackpore, including several districts of South Bengal. In the second phase conducted today, the motivational event was held in various districts of North Bengal.
