Naxalbari, 08th May: In a tragic turn of events, a 24-year-old fast food seller was brutally attacked on his way home from a wedding ceremony. The injured youth has been identified as Joy Barman from Shanti Nagar.
According to reports, the shocking incident unfolded late on Tuesday night at the Tukria More in Naxalbari. A group of assailants targeted Barman when he was returning home alone after a wedding celebration. Reportedly, Joy was allegedly struck on the head with an iron rod. Later, the locals found the young man and rushed him to the Naxalbari Rural Hospital where he was referred to a private hospital in Bagdogra.
Following this, the family of the injured and the local panchayat member and chief demanded strict punishment for the culprits. Meanwhile, the Naxalbari police swiftly launched an investigation into the attack and apprehended seven individuals for questioning. At present, the incident is under further investigation.
