Siliguri, 28th February: A new development has emerged in the Sevoke Road hit-and-run case involving the death of Shankar Chhetri. The victim’s family alleges that they are being pressured to withdraw the case, with threats warning them to end the matter or face serious consequences.
Shankar Chhetri’s sister, Manu Chhetri, stated that a young man came to her home under the pretext of a media introduction. He then took her to a secluded location outside the house and urged her to end the ongoing legal proceedings. Manu alleged that he threatened severe consequences for her and her entire family if they did not comply.
The incident has reportedly created an atmosphere of fear within the family. Following this, a formal complaint has been filed at the Kharibari police station, and authorities have begun further investigation into the matter.
