Siliguri, 26th May: In a shocking incident, a family abandoned their kin’s body at Siliguri’s Kiran Chandra Burning Ghat.
On Wednesday morning, the crematorium workers notice the body of a woman lying unattended. When they were unable to find the family members of the deceased, they called the Pradhan Nagar police.
Meanwhile, Muktadhara Foundation, a voluntary organization, stepped in to perform the woman’s last rites after the death certificate was provided by the doctor. However, the identity of the deceased remains unknown.
In a similar incident a few days ago, the abandoned body of a man was found in a vehicle near Binoy More. Later, members of the voluntary organization took the body to the crematorium.
