Siliguri, 05th December: A case of woman duping a man posing as a Lady Constable was reported at the Pradhan Nagar police station.
Civic Volunteer Asim Sarkar stationed in Siliguri Junction traffic registered the case of being cheated on by a woman who posed as a Civic Volunteer. The matter came to light after Asim grew suspicious of her and started investigating her background. During the investigation, it was revealed that Laxmi Roy (the accused) was already married and is a mother of two. Following this, Asim lodged a written complaint at the Pradhan Nagar police station, accusing Laxmi of duping him.
Based on the complaint, the Pradhan Nagar police looked into the impostor and came to know that a woman named Laxmi Roy is serving in Ghoksadanga Police Station of Cooch Behar. Taking advantage of her name, the accused woman made a fake identity card and started duping people in Siliguri. After this, the police arrested the imposter Laxmi Roy last night.
Meanwhile, the accused woman said that a friend of hers had made the forged ID card in Cooch Behar and denied all allegations against her.
ACP of Siliguri Metropolitan West Zone Chinmay Mittal said that Civic Volunteer Asim Sarkar had filed a complaint against the accused woman. On the basis of this, the woman was arrested. A fake Lady Constable ID Card has been recovered from the woman’s possession. Police are investigating the entire case.
