Siliguri, 26th April: The North Bengal University has appointed a three-member expert committee to enhance the quality of the institution, following a poor assessment by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in its previous report.
On Wednesday, the committee met with the university officials, including the vice-chancellor, and is expected to present its report on various subjects, including the university’s departments and professors, within the next three days. The expert committee comprises Former UGC Secretary RK Chauhan, Director of Chitkara University of Punjab KK Mishra, and Professor Birbala Agarwal of Himachal Pradesh University.
During a press briefing, RK Chauhan explained that the committee will assess whether the university’s quality has deteriorated due to the pandemic or not. The focus will be on seven main areas, and the report will highlight the university’s shortcomings. It is worth noting that the university’s grade has dropped from A to B++ as per the final NAAC report in 2022.
