Siliguri, 17th April: EVM malfunction in booth number 142A of Siliguri Hindi High School created difficulties for the voters. They alleged that although they voted for the Trinamool Congress, their votes got cast to some other political parties.
Meanwhile, Siliguri assembly Trinamool candidate Omprakash Mishra reached the spot after learning about the incident. He went inside the booth and communicated with everyone. However, he was told that everything was fine and no such incident took place.
On the other hand, the voters who came to cast their votes at the polling booths said that voting should be stopped immediately in this booth.
Meanwhile, TMC supporters protested against the incident. After receiving the news, the Siliguri police also reached the spot to take stock of the situation.
