Siliguri, 27th January: The Himalayan Hospitality and Tourism Development Network (HHTDN) organized various events in Siliguri to celebrate National Tourism Day.
On Monday, the program began with a tree plantation drive, followed by an awareness session for cab drivers at a hotel in the city. Registrations of tour operators, including hotels, homestays, and restaurants, were also conducted during the event.
The program commenced with the lighting of a ceremonial lamp. HHTDN General Secretary Samrat Sannyal, Junction Traffic Guard IC Ridham Saha, and other dignitaries were present at the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Samrat Sannyal stated that several initiatives were taken to celebrate National Tourism Day. He emphasized that North Bengal’s tourism relies significantly on drivers, and the event aimed to educate them on traffic rules, road safety, and ways to prevent accidents.
