Fulbari, 17th February: A tanker full of ethanol went rampant and fell into the reservoir in the area adjacent to the Fulbari barrage. A crowd of people gathered to take the oil mistaking it for petrol and diesel.
Reportedly, while coming towards Siliguri, an ethanol tanker overturned in the roadside reservoir at Mahananda Barrage adjacent area of Fulbari. The ethanol carried in the tanker spilt on the ground. Mistaking it for petrol and diesel, several people started to gather to take the ethanol in cans.
On the other hand, after getting the news of the incident, NJP police reached the spot and recovered the tanker and brought it to the police station. However, there is no news of any casualty in the incident. The police are probing the entire incident.
