Alipurduar, 03rd January: Wild elephant attacks continue to wreak havoc in the tea gardens of the Dooars region. On Thursday night, a wild tusker went on a rampage in the Tasati Tea Garden area of the Falakata block.
Reports indicate that the elephant entered the area and damaged seven houses. The homes of locals Sushila Oraon and Bablu Bhumi suffered the maximum damage. In addition to the damage, the tusker consumed food stored in the residences, such as flour and rice.
The locals have expressed their concerns over the frequent elephant attacks and have demanded that the Forest Department take appropriate measures to prevent such incidents.
