Bagdogra, 18th April: In yet another incident of elephants searching for food, a forest worker’s house fell victim to an elephant attack. The incident occurred in Sanyasi Tea Garden area of Bagdogra, where on Monday late at night, an elephant entered the house in search of food.
Startled by the elephant’s presence, the family members managed to evacuate the house. The Bagdogra Forest Department was immediately informed about the incident. Forest workers swiftly arrived at the scene and used firecrackers to drive the elephant back towards the forest.
Unfortunately, the forest worker’s house suffered damage from the elephant’s attack, and the elephant also consumed food that was kept in the house. The residents of Sanyasi Tea Garden area are now living in fear and anxiety following this unsettling incident.
