Kharibari, 21st November: An elephant entered the Kauri Jote area of Buraganj in Kharibari late Thursday night in search of food. The rampaging animal injured a woman and partially damaged three houses in the locality.
The elephant, which came out of the Tukriajhar forest, caused chaos while searching for food before eventually returning to the forest. Forest officials from the Tukriajhar Range reached the spot after receiving reports of the incident.
Locals have demanded compensation for the damages caused by the elephant.
