Nagrakata, 22nd July: An elephant was electrocuted to death in the Bamandanga tea garden under the Nagarakata block.
The unfortunate incident occurred when the elephant got entangled in electricity wires last night.
The locals sighted the carcass of the adult elephant this morning and immediately informed the forest department. The forest workers reached the spot shortly after and recovered the animal’s body.
