Siliguri, 22nd June: Sensation prevailed in the area after the corpse of an elderly woman was retrieved from a well in Ward No. 24 of Bharatnagar area under the Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC). The deceased has been identified as Anuradha Majumdar.
According to reports, the family members of the deceased were looking for her this morning but failed to locate her. Meanwhile, after searching for a long time the family members eventually found her body in the well.
Upon receiving the news, the police and the fire department immediately arrived at the spot and recovered the corpse. Following this, the body was taken to the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for an autopsy. In the meantime, the police are engaged in the investigation of the entire incident.
