Jalpaiguri, 28th March: The decapitated body of an elderly woman, identified as Samija Khatun, was found in Bahadur Gram Panchayat’s Banijyer Hat area in Jalpaiguri, sparking widespread shock in the locality.
According to family sources, the woman had left her home early in the morning. Her family discovered the body behind the house later that morning and immediately alerted the police.
Police and a forensic team reached the scene to conduct an investigation. Preliminary findings suggest the incident may be a murder, and authorities have launched a detailed probe into the case.
