Kharibari, 10th August: In a tragic incident, an elderly man, identified as Jagdish Barman (72), was found dead after reportedly committing suicide by hanging in his home in Prasadu Jote, Kharibari. The incident has caused significant concern in the area.
According to reports, Barman had been suffering from illness for some time. After having dinner on Friday night, he went to bed, and his wife discovered him hanging the following morning. The Panitanki Outpost police responded to the scene after receiving notification. Family members suggest that mental depression may have contributed to the suicide.
The body has been recovered and sent to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for a post-mortem examination. The police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
