Bagdogra, 18th May: In a tragic incident, an elderly man lost his life after being hit by a train in Gossainpur of Bagdogra.
As per reports, the local people spotted the deceased body on the railway tracks in Gossainpur area. Subsequently, the matter was informed to the police. Upon receiving the news, the RPF of Bagdogra railway station and police of Bagdogra police station arrived at the spot, recovered the body, and sent it to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for a post-mortem examination.
However, the identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained. The officials are of the opinion that the incident may have occurred while crossing the railway tracks. Currently, the police are engaged in a detailed investigation.
