E-rickshaw stolen while driver visits temple in Siliguri, two arrested

Siliguri, 29th August: In a swift action by the Pradhan Nagar Police Station, two thieves have been apprehended and a stolen e-rickshaw recovered within 24 hours of the theft. The arrested individuals have been identified as Gadayi Sha and Tinku Sha.


According to police sources, on August 27, an e-rickshaw driver had parked his vehicle outside the Hanuman Temple in Mallaguri while he went inside to receive the prayer offering. Upon returning, he found that his vehicle had been stolen. Subsequently, a formal complaint was lodged at the Pradhan Nagar Police Station.

Following the complaint, the police launched an investigation and swiftly arrested Gadayi Shah from the Siliguri Junction area. During interrogation, Shah revealed the location of his accomplice, Tinku Shah, who was later arrested from the BRI Colony. The stolen e-rickshaw was later recovered from the Siliguri Regulated Market area. On Thursday, the accused were presented in the Siliguri Court and the police continue to investigate the case.
