Siliguri, 03rd June: In a brazen act of crime, miscreants robbed a e-rickshaw (toto) driver at blade point in broad daylight behind Margaret School under the jurisdiction of Pradhan Nagar Police Station. The incident has raised concerns about public safety as criminals disguise themselves as passengers to commit such crimes.
According to reports, three individuals boarded a Toto in front of Biswadeep Cinema Hall on Monday afternoon, posing as passengers headed to Margaret School. Upon reaching a secluded area behind the school, the perpetrators brandished a blade and forcibly snatched valuables from the driver. However, when the driver raised alarm, nearby citizens intervened. While two of the assailants managed to escape, one was apprehended by the public, tied to a pole, and handed over to the police.
Upon receiving the alert, officers from Pradhan Nagar police station promptly arrived at the scene and detained the arrested individual. The investigation into the incident is currently underway to identify and apprehend the remaining suspects involved in the robbery.
