Kharibari, 30th July: Police have solved the murder case of an e-rickshaw driver in Kharibari with the arrest of two individuals, Sujay Roy and Bimal Barman, both residents of Baktarbhita in Buraganj.
Earlier, on Tuesday morning, the body of Sujay Sarkar, an e-rickshaw driver, was found in Subal Jote, Buraganj. His family suspected foul play after noticing injury marks on his body, leading police to register a murder case and begin investigation.
Police arrested Sarkar’s two friends from Baktarbhita on Tuesday night. As per police sources, the three had gathered on Monday night, during which an argument broke out. The altercation turned violent, and Sarkar was allegedly killed by the other two, who then fled the scene. During interrogation, the accused confessed to the crime.
Both were produced before the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Court on Wednesday. The investigation is ongoing under Kharibari Police.
