Rajganj, 21st February: A collision occurred on the Siliguri-Jalpaiguri National Highway on Saturday between an e-rickshaw and a small goods vehicle, leaving the e-rickshaw driver seriously injured. The accident took place near Panikauri More in Rajganj.
According to sources, the e-rickshaw was traveling from Fatapukur towards Hathi More when a small goods vehicle allegedly came from the opposite direction in the wrong lane. The two vehicles collided head-on, causing extensive damage to the front of the e-rickshaw and injuring the driver.
Rajganj police reached the spot immediately after receiving the information. The injured driver was rescued and taken to Rajganj Rural Hospital, where he is undergoing treatment.
Meanwhile, the driver of the goods vehicle fled the scene with the vehicle. Police have launched a search for the absconding driver and the investigation is ongoing.
