Bagdogra, 12th August: In yet another road accident in Bagdogra, twelve individuals suffered significant injuries, including nine school students. The collision took place between an e-rickshaw and a motorcycle in the Halal Basti area near Kestopur.
Reports indicate that due to a traffic blockade on the national highway, the e-rickshaw, carrying nine students from a private school in Phansidewa, was traveling on a rural road towards Kestopur. During this, a motorcycle lost control and collided head-on with the e-rickshaw in the Halal Basti area.
As a result, nine students, the driver, and two boarding the motorcycle suffered injuries. Three of the injured are in critical condition. Subsequently, they have been provided with initial medical care and admitted to a private hospital in Bagdogra. The injured students are residents of the Bijaynagar Tea Estate.
Upon receiving news of the accident, the Upa-Pradhan of Hetmuri Singhijhora Gram Panchayat arrived at the scene. The police are conducting an investigation into the entire incident.
