Siliguri, 15th July: A nationwide protest has been launched by the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), the youth wing of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), in protest of the privatization of railways.
In this context, a protest was staged in front of the NJP ADRM office by DYFI Darjeeling District and NJP Fullbari Local Committee, maintaining COVID-19 government guidelines.
District Secretary of Darjeeling District DYFI, Sourashish Roy stated that during the ongoing pandemic, the central government is conspiring to privatize the railway by not helping the common citizens, which is highly condemnable. Roy further asserted that the DYFI will never accept the decision of railway privatization.
With this, the DYFI demanded appointment in vacant posts of the railways. The members claimed to stage a larger protest if the central government does not change its anti-people policy soon.
