DYFI protests at NJP Police Station, demands punishment for minor girl’s murder culprit

Siliguri, 02nd April: DYFI staged a protest at NJP police station, demanding strict punishment for those responsible for the murder of a minor girl in Siliguri.


As per reports, a ninth-grade minor, a resident of the NJP police station area, left her home at noon on Tuesday. Later, she was found murdered. Her friend Rohit called the minor’s family, informing them that she was found unconscious in the bushes. However, locals from Rohit’s area claimed that he had taken the unconscious minor out of the house around 5 PM on Tuesday.

Following the incident, BJP also protested at NJP police station. On Wednesday, the DYFI Darjeeling district committee again took to the streets, demanding strict action against the culprits. Members of the organization marched to NJP police station, staged a sit-in protest at the gate, and later submitted a memorandum to the IC.


DYFI Darjeeling district joint secretary Sagar Sharma emphasized that the police must take stricter action against criminals to instill fear of the law and prevent such crimes.
