Siliguri, 02nd September: Darjeeling District DYFI Committee today campaigned against the TMC, alleging corruption. During this, members of DYFI took out a rally raising slogans of “Chor Dhor Jail Bharo” and headed towards the SDO office.
However, a large police force was deployed which stopped the rally from reaching the SDO office. After which the protesters started demonstrating through a sit-in protest. Later, six representatives, including Darjeeling District DYFI Secretary Sachin Khati, went to the SDO’s office and submitted a memorandum in support of their nine-point demands.
On this occasion, Sachin Khati said that the said campaign has been organized in demand of the arrest of corrupt leaders and ministers of TMC and the state government. He further said that if the said demands are not accepted immediately, he will launch a big agitation.
