Siliguri, 25th October: Siliguri is preparing to host a massive Durga Puja Carnival on Thursday to celebrate the cultural legacy and artistry across the city. The event will be witnessed at the Mahatma Gandhi Junction along the Hill Cart Road.
According to reports, on Wednesday, Siliguri Mayor Goutam Deb paid a visit to the Lal Mohan Moulik Niranjan Ghat in Mahatma Gandhi More to inspect the ongoing preparations ahead of the carnival. The event will commence at 5 p.m. on Thursday. About ten well-known Durga Puja Committees of the city are anticipated to actively participate in the funfair.
In the previous annual carnival, the city dwellers were disappointed due to the incessant downpour. Despite the inclement weather, the event witnessed a huge crowd with thousands of spectators enjoying the remarkable occasion. This year, the procession will be carried out from Hashmi Chowk (Venus More) as a part of the carnival. Each club will, thereafter, present a 10-minute program at the Mahatma Gandhi More.
BEST WISHES TO ALL
