Siliguri, 20th October: The Additional District Magistrate (ADM) has announced the names of the winning clubs for the best puja, idol, mandap, and message conveyed to the society in the Biswa Bangla Sharad Samman – 2023.
Notably, an event of Sharad Samman is annually organized by the Information and Cultural Affairs Department of the State Government to award the best Durga puja committee based on specific criteria. Similarly, this year, a Sharad Samman was held at the Dinabandhu Mancha (Tathya Kendra) in Siliguri.
According to reports, the ADM Darjeeling announced the names of the winning clubs for best Puja, mandap, idol, and message conveyed through the conceptual theme. This year, one club from Batasi and two from Siliguri have been selected in the best puja category under the Sharad Samman-2023, including Batasi P.S.A Club, Subrata Sangha, and Rabindra Sangha, and were rewarded with a cash prize of Rs 50,000.
In addition, the Uttarayan Sarbajanin Durga Puja Committee, the Upkar Athletic Club from Siliguri, and the Milanpally Renaissance Club were awarded the best idol. The award for the best puja mandap is currently owned by Jatiya Tarun Sangha, Swastika Yuvak Sangha, and the Lower Bagdogra Sarbajanin Puja Committee.
In contrast, the Bharat Nagar Sarbajanin Durga Utsav Committee, Milanpally Sarbajanin Puja Committee, and Jagrati Seva Samiti have been honoured for raising awareness with their themes.
