Naxalbari, 20th May: In a significant move against illegal sand smuggling, the Naxalbari police seized a dumper suspected to be involved in the activity. Acting on a tip-off regarding sand transportation without proper documentation, officers from the Naxalbari police station conducted a naka checking at Satbhaiya More in Naxalbari.
During the operation, a dumper loaded with sand was intercepted. Upon spotting the police, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene. The police subsequently took the dumper into custody.
A search operation is currently underway to trace the absconding driver.
